Breaking with tradition, we’re sharing with you some details of a new press that we know very little about. However, our author Steven J. Guscott reliably informs me that these people are ‘good eggs’, and we trust him.
ThunderStone Books is a small independent publisher focusing on language learning and culturally authentic stories. Our current material is focused on children’s Chinese learning, but we are looking to expand into the fiction market and are interested in stories that contain a significant amount of foreign language, culture, and/or mythology.
Here’s a message from Rachel and Robert Noorda (owners):
We are particularly interested in stories relating to Chinese, Scottish Gaelic and Spanish, although we would be interested in expanding beyond these languages/cultures if the right author is found. All types of books are welcome, from children’s chapter books to literary fiction.
If interested, please send a query letter with an attachment of the first fifty pages to info (at) thunderstonebooks.com. We aim to respond to all submissions received, but could take up to several months depending on volume.
Thank you for considering ThunderStone Books!
